Energy is this fast growing business’s mission and in an effort to expand personnel, additional space was required. This energy sales company is located in the new business district of a growing community just 20 minutes South of the twin cities in MN.
A new space was acquired and conveniently located in the same office building as their existing space. It became the perfect blank canvas to create a space plan and design concept that would reflect the owner’s business model.
Approximately eight new workstations, coffee bar, a wall mounted TV/monitor, shelving with coat racks and a small conference room were important requirements by the owner in the initial programming phase.
The owner also requested the color palette stay consistent with the existing office but desired a more open space plan. To achieve this, coordinating warm color palette and carpet was selected, lightly used Herman Miller resolve workstations were used to honor the green concept and budget. Existing general lighting remained as task lighting was added to each workstation in the work area.
A conveniently located coffee bar, refrigeration, cabinets and stools created an accessible and pleasant area to grab a light snack or beverage. Custom shelving allowed for storage of business manuals, personal items and other business related items.
The conference room accommodated a small round conference table, six conference chairs, white board, art and cart for beverages. A custom sphere shaped drop ceiling from Armstrong housed new general lighting creating adequate acoustical value and intimacy to an otherwise open synergistic space.
As a result, the energy and enthusiasm of the owner, employees and their operations, flowed throughout their new space efficiently and comfortably.
