Basement Design
Kid friendly, functional and transitional describes this finish basement project.
For a family of five, a functional space plan and practicality was important. An open basement space plan accomplished this very thing while incorporating a design, which, in the future, will transition into spacious area for adult entertaining.
Ceramic tile flooring, granite counter-tops, dark stained maple trim and cabinetry and ample closet space provide hard surfaces for floor hockey, and storage for childhood toys and sports equipment.
Bright urban décor provide a hip vibe for teens beyond the gaming area while a softer warm color palette, creates a relaxing space for lounging or watching this avid sports family’s favorite hockey game.
The snack bar is centrally located with an extended high-top table and chairs. And, a sink, microwave, snack stocked cabinets and cooler save hungry teens a trip to the upper level.
Closets located close in proximity to the stair way and in the bath provide generous storage and quick access to seasonal items, linens and other miscellaneous items.
The large bathroom includes a walk-in closet, private toilet area and vanity cleverly located on the exterior wall of the shower.
Function, style and practicality pull this spacious and beautiful basement layout together while creating a cool urban yet comfortable place for the whole family to enjoy.
